Jean Lamont, co-founder of eduINNOVATIONS, is currently a consultant with Educators
Collaborative, an educational search and consulting firm. She served for
12 years as Head of School at The Foote School, a kindergarten-grade 9 coed
independent
school of 475 students in New Haven, CT. In that position, she provided leadership
for a major capital campaign, doubled annual giving and oversaw a two-fold
increase in enrollment of students of color. Her other administrative positions
include Department Chair (Science), Division head (grades 7-9) and Admissions
Officer. Jean has served on and chaired a number of CAIS/AISNE accreditation
teams. In New York City, she was co-founder of Early Steps, an organization
that recruits and supports minority students for kindergarten. She has over
20 years of experience counseling families regarding secondary school placement.
Jean has served as a Board member and officer for numerous non-profit Boards.
Jean earned her B.A. from Middlebury College and her M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Sally Mixsell (Mike’ sul), co-founder of eduINNOVATIONS, is currently Head of School at Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenfield, MA.
She worked in boarding and day schools for thirty years before becoming Project
Director and instructor at the Klingenstein Center for Independent School
Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Before moving to graduate
level work, Sally served in a variety of administrative roles, including
Director of Curriculum and Instruction (grades PK-12), Academic Dean (grades
7-12), and grade level dean (grade 9). In those positions, she focused largely
on the development and oversight of leadership and curriculum initiatives,
academic support programs and professional growth of faculty. She has also
worked with admissions, development and alumni offices and is active in the
Beginning Teachers Institute and the Commission on Professional Development
of CAIS (CT). She serves on several school boards as well. Sally earned her
B.A. from Wells College and her M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University
where she was also a Klingenstein Fellow.
